I Found Myself by Naguib Mahfouz

I Found Myself: Last Dreams gathers the final dream pieces written by the Egyptian Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz in his last years, now available in English in a translation by the novelist Hisham Matar.

These brief, poetic vignettes blend the strangeness of night-time dreams with the storytelling craft that defined Mahfouz’s long career, often returning to familiar places and faces from his past. They are accompanied by atmospheric, dreamlike photographs by Diana Matar. A beautiful, contemplative book for admirers of Mahfouz and of short, luminous prose.
